His Majesty The King
In a hugely symbolic moment His Majesty The King chose to attend the dedication of the LGBT+ Armed Forces Community Memorial as his first formal attendance at an LGBTQ+ focused event.
As the head of HM Forces his presence was a significant step in the healing process for those Veterans who were dismissed, discharged, mistreated by HM Forces during the years of the ‘Gay Ban’.
To the veterans who saw him and met him this will be a moment they will never forget.
